Biography – Raw Honey

Raw Honey is the musical collaboration of songwriters Miranda Bradley and Sue Pratten.  Warmly received by audiences since 2000, this vibrant partnership creates music for the soul ~ pure acoustic delight!  Their musical synergy is characterised by seamless harmonies and great guitar work with splashes of mandolin and dobro.

With Sue's move to Coffs Harbour in January and Miranda remaining based in Adelaide, 2007 will be an interesting year for Raw Honey as they plan for gigs in Adelaide, Northern NSW, Sydney and Canberra.

Recordings

Raw Honey's studio album Unlikely Places was released in April 2004.

Raw Honey released their debut CD Live at the Hive in September 2001.

Live recordings of Raw Honey’s “Peace, Hope, Faith, Love” and “The 10 O’clock Blues” feature on the 2002 SCALA compilation CD “Here We Are Again”.

In 2000, Miranda and Sue each won song-writing competitions for their songs “The Ocean” and “Free Me” respectively.  Raw Honey subsequently recorded both winning songs for the 2001 SCALA compilation CD, All Over Your Face!".

Biography – Miranda Bradley...

Miranda Bradley is a gifted singer-songwriter, who plays 6 & 12 string guitars, bass and mandolin, and has performed in bands (Fruit, Chicane, Kai's Dilemma), duos and solo since the early 1990’s.

Her career highlights include:

Performing with Tommy Emmanuel at the Vancouver Folk Music Festival, supporting Angelique Kidjo at Heaven (Adelaide, SA) and playing at festivals from BC Canada and Amsterdam to Womadelaide and Victor Harbor Folk Festival in the band Fruit (1995-1997) and performing solo in support of The Velvet Janes (2000).

Composing for and performing in Pat Rix’s play Freeway with Junction Theatre Co. (1998)

Receiving awards for her song writing at SCALA’s Festival Of Original Music (Co-winner 2005, 2000 & 1995, Finalist 1994), and judging the lyrics and demo recording sections of SCALA’s FOOM in 2001 and 2002 respectively.

Biography – Sue Pratten...

A talented singer, songwriter, guitarist and pianist, Sue has been performing publicly since the mid 1980s.  Bringing an energy and directness to her performance, Sue has consistently delighted audiences in her home state of NSW and more recently in SA.

Her career highlights include:

Performing at festivals including the Port Fairy Folk Festival open stages (as Raw Honey), the Victor Harbor Folk Festival, the Black Stump Music Festival and the Cooma Music Festival.

Receiving awards for her song writing at the SA Songwriters’ Event, Victor Harbor Folk Festival (Winner 2000, Highly Commended 1999) and SCALA’s Festival Of Original Music (Co-winner 2005, Highly Commended 1999).
